Teaching SEO and Analytics Analysis

A successful Search Engine Optimization (SEO) strategy involves research, appropriate keyword mapping and Analytics Analysis. Students can develop this highly sought after marketable skillset by learning the dynamics and process.

Steps to Simple SEO

  1. Research analysis of the target market patterns and typical search keywords
  2. Use a source like schema.org to find appropriate code snippets for vocabulary property schema "types". For my example we will use "Person".
  3. Use the MicroData Example for creating code to place in appropriate places on your website.
  4. In this example I am using the name Frank Houlihan and inserting lines of code to increase the SEO position.
  5. Test to make sure the code is working correctly by using the Structured Data Testing Tool and entering the URL of your website.

Steps to Analytics Analysis

  1. Set up a free Google Analytics account.
  2. Once signed in to your URL at Google Analytics ... Click on the Admin icon.
  3. Select Tracking Code ...Copy the code for the script that tracks the website analytics
  4. Paste the script code into the header section of your website.
  5. After some time has elapsed and users have examined your site, you can track specifics of their experience by clicking on Behaviors.
